We are also committed to the development of our engineer team, with two apprentices taken on this year who are developing under the careful mentorship of some of our more senior engineers, more about them in the next newsletter. And we also welcome Jordan to the team. Jordan is working towards his NVQ Level 3 with a good track record and joined us in February. Read his interview below!


Q. What were you doing before you worked at KBS?
A. Working as a self employed sub-contractor electrician on sites in and around London. i.e Hotels,schools etc.

Q. Summarise your day-to-day job in 4 bullet points
A.
•Carrying out tasks in a Team/Pair or individually.
•Wiring power and data to items specified on allocated drawings.
•Using various types of Containment.
•Isolating and stripping out existing wiring and going ahead with the new install.

Q. What projects have you been involved with during your time at KBS?
A. Since joining the KBS Team I have had the opportunity to to take part in multiple HWS upgrades at various Waitrose branches. Currently I’m involved in store refit of the Harrow Weald Branch of Waitrose including; Cold room wiring systems and mains rebuilds.

Q. If you had to highlight one “gold” moment from your time at KBS, what would it be and why?
A. A Gold moment at KBS would have to be having the chance to play a key role in the mains rebuild of the Harrow Weald store.

Q. If you had to pick one thing that you’ve found particularly hard or challenging in your role, what would it be and why?
A. Since my time at KBS is found coming to terms with the overall picture of the project as it’s a little different from projects I’ve been involved with in the past. However I feel as the project progresses my knowledge of how it runs does too.

Q. What are your aspirations from the future?
A. My Aspirations for the future are to continue excelling at both practical and theoretical aspects of the electrical industry and possibly run projects myself.
