Refrigeration Upgrade

THE OPPORTUNITY

The KBS team were appointed by Waitrose & Partners after a long and competitive tendering procedure with several other electrical contractors. We worked alongside Princebuild Ltd who were the main contractor for this project.

We were responsible for the installation of a new refrigeration system for the 22,000 square feet Waitrose & Partners store. This also included refrigerating all service cabinet counters and cabinets, as well as installing architectural lights across the relevant store aisle as part of the renovation. KBS also supplied and installed a new dry air cooler BMS panel which would control the sales floor refrigeration, External Dry Air Coolers & Pumps.

THE DELIVERY

This project outlined our ability to work under challenging conditions, as the work was carried out during both night-time and daytime due to local noise restrictions. Furthermore, the project was completed while obeying all Covid 19 protocols including social distancing as this was one of the major concerns for the client. It was important that the old system be replaced with the new one while functioning within the boundaries of the present area, and that the transfer be seamless, with minimal downtime.

THE OUTCOME

The project was completed on time and within the allocated budget. Additionally, we were pleased to have developed a good relationship with the main contractor of this project, Princebuild Ltd. The successful completion of this project led to us receiving two more refrigeration upgrade projects with Waitrose & Partners across different locations in the UK.
