Meet Ben & Josh, who are now well into the swing of things with their apprenticeship here at KBS- working towards their NVQ Level 3. We asked them both 3 questions.
Read here to find out what they said.

What have you been doing at college so far?
In college so far I have passed my Health & Safety unit 101, and have moved onto unit 103 in Electrical Principles and Science with exams commencing in April. Within this unit the focus has been around Ohms law and how to work out resistors in both parallel & series.
How has your time at KBS been?
Already on site I have learnt a lot, terminating & glanding SWA cables, installing cables, fixing tray & conduit as well as connecting hot water cylinders and A.C units. One of my biggest achievements to date has to be working with one of our electrical engineers to installing a new distribution board.
What are you looking forward to in the future?
In the future I’m looking forward to being pushed to my full potential, especially with the refits coming soon as the work sounds challenging but a great environment to learn and progress.

What have you been doing at college so far?
So far at college we have completed a Health & Safety test that covered the on site procedures necessary to keep safety at a maximum. The electrical unit we have heavily covered has been the Scientific Principles. Within this unit we have covered how transformations work, various earthing methods and how both single and three phase power is generated.
How has your time at KBS been?
So far at KBS the skills I’ve learned vary from terminating various size SWA cables and installing heating pumps to wiring up a cold room and its various components such as evaporators & condensers while working in tandem with other trades in a small environment.
What are you looking forward to in the future?
For my future at KBS I look forward to developing skills by working on larger projects like refits where my knowledge will be tested on the job.
