Founded in 1961, KBS has a long-established reputation with its clients as preferred electrical contractors. We have the knowledge and the commitment to carry out any type of project from traditional electrical installation and security through to data services, BMS and environmental systems.
We work throughout the UK providing electrical services to the varying requirements of our clients in the construction, retail, industrial and commercial sectors.
We have carried out installation works on a wide variety of different projects in recent years, including high-profile projects for national retailers in the supermarket and department store markets.
Our Ethos
We pride ourselves on our versatility, high standards of workmanship, loyal workforce, customer service and professionalism. We have an outstanding reputation and considerable goodwill with our clients.
Our clients demand and we deliver exceptionally high standards of workmanship, technical input, safety and commitment to programme targets and budgetary requirements. Furthermore, our Directors and Managers give pro-active and hands-on support throughout the project and continue to provide guidance and information even after the contracts have been completed and final accounts settled. As a result, a great trust between client and contractor has been built and we believe this is fundamental in cultivating long-term client relationships and repeat business.
All site staff carry CSCS cards and are qualified in their respective fields. We have qualified staff in the production of ‘As Fitted’ drawings using AutoCAD together with experienced administration staff for the production of accounts, estimating and job costing.
Company Timeline
K Boultbee Limited begins trading (later to become Keith Boultbee & Sons). Based in Bootle, Merseyside and working mostly in the north of England. Long term clients include John Lewis Partnership, dealing with all aspects of electrical installation.
Perry Robson becomes a qualified electrician
First Waitrose Project (Banstead)
Business expands into the south with a branch opening in Reading, Berkshire, trading as K.Boultbee (Southern)
Perry Robson joins the business as an electrician
100th Waitrose project (John Lewis Oxford Street)
Southern branch moves to Hampton, Middlesex
First Data Services installation
Northern and southern trading names merged to K.B.S. (Electrical Engineers) Ltd
CAD software implemented for all projects
KBS Electrical & Data Services formed after management buyout from Boultby family by Perry Robson and his then business partner
